Oh, Jennifer Armentrout, I adore the stuffin’ outta you! The reason I adore you is based PUREly on the fact that you’ve written the Covenant Series! Well, not only that but it does HALF a lot to do with it! Half-Blood Rocked my Wings and quite frankly, I didn’t think you could do the same thing twice but Jennifer, you Rocked my wings… Again with Pure!


Pure was everything I could’ve dared hope for and more. Jennifer’s character depictions are tight but still open for interpretation-that’s what I love about Alex, Aiden and Seth; Jennifer has their characters so well fleshed out it’s as if they are very real but they aren’t so rigid that they can’t surprise us, either. That’s a tough line to walk yet Jennifer walks it like a seasoned tight rope walker. Alex, a half-blood and one of only 2 Apollyons to walk the earth is such a spitfire and so tough on the outside yet compassionate and loving deeper inside only she’d rather stick herself in the eye with a fork then admit it. Aiden-A Pure blood is a truly good guy, fantastic fighter and dedicated to the cause-he’s a straight arrow and always follows the rules---that is unless it concerns Alex’s well being. This is forbidden love if I’ve ever seen it and Aiden is much to gallant to see Alex hurt by their hormones but can’t bear to see her with anyone else. Then we have Seth, the other Apollyon, who is forever by her side. He is adored by all the women but adored mostly by himself that’s not to say he doesn’t have aany redeeming qualities. Once Alex comes fully into her powers she will be his Yin to his Yang, a very powerful pair that will be virtually indestructible. They are a couple to be revered and a couple to be terrified by.
The narrative flows beautifully; it is action packed and thrilling, filled with romance and horror, mystery and chills. I won’t spoil anything for anyone as I’ve seen the plot rehashed a hundred times. What I will say is I burned through the pages in one sitting and then read it again. It’s another One-Sit-Read for Jennifer for me! Now the waiting begins, yet again!


I am so excited for Deity the third of the Covenant novels to come out that I can barely contain myself.
