Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz

This is one I should have posted in June but due to unforeseen 'happenings' :o] I forgot about it! I never like to post my ARC's to early, if I can, a week or so before release date. This one is late!

THE FAERYS VIEW

Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz had me at times in complete suspense and yet other times snorting with her sense of humor! The story itself is one of doomed starcrossed lovers that kept me turning pages late into the night eager to see what would happen next.

Emma is 16 and her life has been a series of loss. Losing both her mother and her twin in a short space of time left her with an abusive alcoholic step-father that nearly killed her in a drunk driving accident. It is then she decides to go live with her aunt in New York.

Going from her world to that of the privledged teens she meets at her new posh private school- Vince A, is a culture shock. Her aunt has made sure she has the right hair and clothes while her adorable younger cousin keeps her updated on Who, What and Where, is cool.

She meets Brendan and the minute she does there is an electric pull between the two of them but he runs hot and cold with her. When she needs protecting, he protects her and finally they start to work on why they feel so close and so strongly about each other. With the help of a witch, Emma learns to draw on her inner witch and where the story goes from there you'll just have to read the story! You won't regret it!

Spellbound is not a flimsy read, it is a unique book with strong characters and Ms. Shultz does a fantastic job with descriptives, setting up the scenes so that the reader has no trouble visualizing themselves there.

This is one book I'd highly recommend and Ms. Schultz is an author to watch for!

  3. I have to be honest... the blurb didn't draw me in so I didn't even try to get this book for review. *smacks head* Shows you how much I know! :) I'm so glad there are strong characters. I'm so upset with myself for missing this one. Well, it goes on the wishlist now!
