If I Die by Rachel Vincent

If I Die - Soul Screamers #5
Rachel Vincent
Paperback, 342 pages
September 27th 2011;Harlequin

The entire Soul Screamers Series by Rachel Vincent has been a favorite since I read the free prequel on my Kindle; I couldn’t believe my luck at finding such a gem! Since then, it’s only gotten better and better. Ms. Vincent writes the series tackling different issues in each novel-I LOVE that! There are the same characters in each novel but there’s always the introduction of new characters in each one, broadening the cast and keeping the series fresh and new.

In My Soul to Steal the book before If I Die, I thought my heart would break along with experiencing every other emotion out there but in If I Die, my heart truly did break. To review this book by doing a summary of events would be to completely spoil it for others. AND I refuse to bore anyone with a summary of the book, which is done well enough in the books synopsis but I will say: When you first start it, you can’t possibly foresee the events unfolding as they do; as I was reading it I was surprised by how wrong I was on so many things that I was absolutely SURE were going to happen! There are plot twists, nail-biting edge of your seat suspense and thrills along with this dreadful feeling that this could possibly be the last book. This Faery would bet her best Faery Fruit wine that The Soul Screamer series is going to continue to exceed my expectations.

There is absolutely nothing that I didn’t like about If I Die, obviously so I’ll start singing the praises of the author and her absolute brilliant skills on world building, her ingenuity in crafting such a uniquely fascinating and original ‘paranormal’ world and writing characters that you truly have feelings for-good or bad. In Rachel’s post story acknowledgements she says that this is the best of the series so far, Rachel, I AGREE, and that's saying a lot because I loved them all!

The Faery says READ THIS BOOK but only if you’ve started the series! If not, then The Faery says START THIS SERIES! It definitely sets my wings aflutter!

  1. Oh no, I'm scared. I love the series too but am I up for the stress? Don't know. Great review.

  2. I can't WAIT to finally start this series!!! I just need to find the time!!!

  3. Ash, I hear ya! I have so many books I WANT to read, books I NEED to read and books I HAVE to read, LOL! Guess which one falls to the TBR pile?
I've gotten behind in my reviews because I've read so much when I was sick but couldn't really type, now I'm read the Have To's and playing catch up on my reviews!
The Soul Screamer Series is excellent and pretty easy to get thru, put it at the top of your tbr pile if you can! Got a Kindle? I forget?

SIB-You'll LOVE it! Thanks for the complement! I think you should read it! Go Girl!

  4. Really wonderful review Kristi! I absolutely adore Rachel Vincent, her Shifters series is a favorite of mine and I need to try this series too. I completely agree with you that Rachel's ingenuity is nothing short of impressive! I'm glad to know you love this series so much, it makes me want to run to the bookstore right this minute and buy book 1.

  5. I hear you :D Lis reviewed this over at my blog and told me I had to read them. She even asked me to if she could post reviews since she really liked the series. And if book 5 is good too..ohh want!

  6. Jenny: Thank you! I love the Shifters Series, too. I don't think she could write much that I wouldn't like :o] I hope you find time to read them, they're fairly quick reads! Hard to put down.

Blodeuedd: You should get, Girly! Like I said to Jenny, they really are fairly quick reads. If I die is the longest at almost 350 pages.

    Thanks for stopping by Ladies!

  10. This is the best book of the series! I completely agree with how tough it is to talk about this book without revealing everything! But it was so amazing. And this was so completely nail-biting!
