Waiting on Wednesday # 8 Witch Song by Amber Argyle

The world is changing.

For thousands of years, witch song has controlled everything from the winds to the shifting of the seasons. But not anymore. All the Witches are gone, taken captive by the dark Witch, Espen.

As the last echoes of witch song fade, Espen grows stronger as winter and summer come within the space of a day. Now she’s coming for the one she missed—a shy, untrained girl of fifteen named Brusenna.

Somehow, Brusenna has to succeed where every other Witch has failed. Find Espen. Fight her. Defeat her.

Or there won’t be anything left to save.

I love everything about this book! The cover just grabs me and holds me in thrall! The beautiful girl with haunting gold eyes has a look of strength yet vulnerability to her. The beautiful Golden Jewel at her throat makes me wonder if that will have any significance in the book.

The way that the she is partially hidden by what appears to be Holly branches with a few clusters of Holly berries may be symbolic, too. Back in the old days, folks would plant Holly bushes around their homes to repel things such as lightening and witchcraft!

So many questions I have!

The summary promises to be thrilling, magickal and full of exciting quests with a storyline that is different from any I've seen so far---A young seemingly untrained witch against a powerful evil witch who is on the hunt for her. I'm extremely overjoyed with the thought of such a 'Bewitching' book!

The Cover + The Summary + Amber Argyle = FanFaeryTastic Book!
I'm willing to bet my Left Wing on it!

A war of good vs. evil---Who will triumph?

The thought that I could possibly get an early copy has my wings all a flutter! I've bugged Amber unmercifully and I will continue to do so!

Hear my plea, Amber! I Nameste' Bow to you...

  3. Hey Mel! I am, it's been a long time coming! I like witch books! I love the cover, the MC looks so vulnerable yet there's an underlying strength there, too. Whoever did the cover art did a wonderful job!
The winter holly (I think?) with just a few branches and berry clusters is hopefully symbolic---Holly planted around the home was reportedly used to repel witchcraft in the old days. Who knows?

  13. Kristi, because you are so awesome, you're getting an ARC for review and giveaway. I'm bugging my publisher until it happens. :)

And yes, there is a lot of symbology on the cover. I won't give everything away, but Senna's magic brings life to the branches around her.

I love seeing all the readers excited about the book! It's my new favorite part of this process (just under writing, of course). If anyone else wants to sign up for a review copy, go here: http://amberargyle.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html

  15. (((Amber)))That's amazing!!! Should I send you some more 'Faery Dust'? That works pretty good!

Seriously, you made my day! The storyline has intriqued me since I first read it and the cover really pulls me in. I love when there is symbology, it shows that the author isn't just going for the 'prettiest' cover for us 'Cover Lovers' but also putting thought into how the cover entwines with the story.

Senna, hauntingly beautiful, looks vulnerable yet the amazing artist, EVE VENTRUE, captures a strength in those golden eyes and set of her shoulders. Sometimes you have to really LOOK to appreciate what the artist and the author want you to really SEE.

I'm not sure if I'm right, it was just a guess but I'll find out soon, I hope! Amber, you rock! I can't Thank you enough. I've been so looking forward to WITCH SONG! You've really made me one happy BOOK FAERY (my alter ego) I can already feel my wings sprouting and I'm about to start flying about spreading the joy I'm feeling! :o]

Thanks again! If I don't hear from you, I'll be emailing you my address even though I've filled out a few review copy forms :o] ---Can you say, beyond excited?

    Big Hugs again!
