Waiting on Wednesday #5

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcase upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

This week I've been sooooo dreaming about:

Not only is the cover absolutely gorgeous! I love how the girl is in black with an eerie grey almost foggy woods behind her and then POP the red flowers flowing from her hands out!

Here's the synopsis from Goodreads:

Blood Magic (The Blood Journals #1)

This page-turning debut novel will entice fans who like their paranormal romances dark and disturbing. It's a natural next-read for fans of Stephanie Meyer, Carrie Jones, and Becca Fitzpatrick. But instead of mythical creatures, blood magic has everything to do with primal human desires like power, wealth, and immortality. Everywhere Silla Kennicott turns she sees blood. She can't stop thinking about her parents alleged murder-suicide. She is consumed by a book filled with spells that arrives mysteriously in the mail. The spells share one common ingredient: blood, and Silla is more than willing to cast a few. What's a little spilled blood if she can uncover the truth? And then there's Nick—the new guy at school who makes her pulse race. He has a few secrets of his own and is all too familiar with the lure of blood magic. Drawn together by a combination of fate and chemistry, Silla and Nick must find out who else in their small Missouri town knows their secret and will do anything to take the book and magic from Silla.

Sounds great to me! What do you think?

  1. Nice choice! Been seeing this one around the blogosphere a bit lately. Very curious...
    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Thanks Susie!

Thanks, GMR, I hate to admit to being a Cover Lover but the cover gets me but so does the storyline.

Something tells me that Silla & Nick aren't as bad as they sound but the other that's after the book might be. It just sounds a bit different from the usual fare right now.

Doesn't come out until late May, unfortunately. Doesn't mean I can't bug the heck out of *certain* folks for a copy though, does it? LOL!

  3. This over is AWESOME! I need to check this out for sure! =)
