Waiting on Wednesday #4

DIE FOR ME is the first of three books about Kate, a sixteen-year-old American who moves to Paris after the death of her parents. It introduces a new version of the undead with revenants, beings who are fated to sacrifice themselves over and over again to save others’ lives. Kate finds herself falling for Vincent, who she discovers is not the typical French teenager he appears: he is something else entirely.

DIE FOR ME presents a new supernatural mythology presented in a city where dreams are sometimes the same as reality. From GoodReads.

DIE FOR ME by AMY PLUM has held a tremendous appeal for me since I first laid eyes on the original cover and read it's synopsis. Here's a picture of the initial U.S. cover:

I loved this cover! Kate, floating along at night, just past an old bridge on a river in Paris, destination unknown; a look of fear but determination on her face.

Being a COVER LOVER, of course I couldn't pass this one up!

But once the BRITISH COVER was unveiled, HarperTeen liked it so much they decided to use it for the U.S. version. It's absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Here it is in all it beautiful glory!

FanFAERYtastic! This is my WOW!!! It's due out in May but I hope to have a copy sooner! (Wink, Wink!)

Now mind you, just because I'm a COVER LOVER---yes---that's my phrase and that's exactly what I am-shamelessly so---but I want to remind you that I also choose my books for content. I have my criteria and DIE FOR ME by AMY PLUM meet's it all!

I can't wait to see everyone else's WOW this week! With so many wonderful books coming out, I'm sure to add quite a few to my TBR pile!

Have fun on this beautiful Waiting on Wednesday!

  2. Great pick! I loved this book so much, there's a review on my blog! http://thecaitfiles.blogspot.com

I've heard some people say they prefer the old cover, and I can see why, but the new one is much more eyecatching I think. I love it too!

  3. I really liked both covers for this. I hope they decided to use the original cover for the paperback version or something because I really can't pick a favorite.

  4. Hi Ivy!

I know, I really do like the new cover. I know there's a lot of controversy over it but I just love the colors.

The Parisian theme is still there; the Eiffel Tower is in the background and she's looking out over Paris.

    Thanks for your comment!

  5. Hi Cait,

I agree! It's pretty and symbolic! I like the old cover, too. I think everyone just got used to the old cover!

We'll see what they decide to do. Maybe the paperback will go with the old version while the hard cover will go with the British version.

Either way, I want to read this book...badly!

  6. Hi Kristi!

Your comment on my blog really made my day! That was sweet of you! :)

Awesome pick this week for WoW! I totally cannot wait to read this book either! But to be honest, although the new cover is totally drop-dead gorgeous, I just feel like so many book covers are coming out like that now! I mean, I totally love the new cover, I'm a sucker like that, but I think it's true! A lot of books are coming out with the book cover where the girl's back is turned and all the eye-catching awesomeness! LOL!

Can't wait to read your review!
