This is the short version; I’ll be writing a more thorough step by step version that I just wrote for my specialist in case it can help anyone else. Ms. Gow is becoming quite popular with my Neurologist Specialist who has sent this out to many of her colleagues all over the US on this past Tuesday. So this isn’t a something to take lightly, it’s made a difference in my life when I really needed it. I want to share it with you all because I know some of you have chronic pain and this just may help you.
I haven’t gone much into my health problems and I will but I really want to talk about Ms. Gow’s work and its ability to make such an overwhelming change in my life.
When Bitter Frost Came out I was in a tremendous amount of pain; I was reading it on my Kindle and the pain was pretty bad and I lay back and visualized myself with Breena, dancing in the faery court with Kian as I slowly breathed in and slowly breathed out, I found myself in Feyland, for real. Ms.Gow’s world building is spectacular I didn’t have any trouble placing myself there --- sorry, Breena, it wasn’t long before I was dancing with Kian :o] but seriously, I could smell the flowers in the Summer Court and later, as I read farther, I could taste the Faery Fruit Wine, and what I found was I could pick up my Kindle and start reading anywhere in any of the Bitter Frost Books and escape my pain after a while of visualizing this. At first it was for only a few minutes but it kept growing longer and longer. Before I knew it, I was using all of Ms. Gow’s books as a tool to control my pain. I can’t call it meditation or visualization because I can now visualize for under 2-4 minutes for moderate pain and go right to one of her stories and read for up to an hour of blissful release. You have no idea how exhilarating it was to find out I could do this! I’d never heard of anything like it AND it also brought down my blood pressure, pulse and respirations along with my pain score so it really performed in its own way. It doesn’t have a name that I’m aware of? I don’t know what to call it and neither did my Neurologist Specialist, I just know that it works on moderate pain and that’s why you see so many of Ms. Gow’s books on my site along GoodReads where I host a group in her honor based on her books. I owe a lot to her and her work. There are a few other writers that I’ve found that have some books that have helped me but Ms. Gow’s novels are the one’s that I discovered this phenomenon with and also the ones that every book helps.
*If anyone needs help, please e-mail me, and I’ll walk you through it. If you suffer through chronic or even acute pain, I think Ms. Gow’s books can help you and I can help
you with the walk-thru. I’ll even buy you the book if you don’t have one and can’t afford it but please, only if you can’t afford it as I don’t have that much money but I believe in helping out anyone I can.
