Esemtu Vol. 1 by Karin Springer
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

"The Sumerian mythology is the oldest we can trace and has influence more or less all European and Western Asian religions directly or indirectly"
-- Esemtu, Vol. 1

Esemtu Volume 1 by Karin Springer is a fast paced and thought-provoking graphic novel that follows three University students in Vienna who join forces when they come across a mysterious murder connected to Sumerian artifacts. As they investigate, it becomes clear that there is something most suspicious about the murder and its connection with the artifacts. Soon, their beliefs will be challenged and they must consider that there is something supernatural at work and suspend their beliefs in order to solve the case.

Esemtu is highly entertaining with an interesting premise in Sumerian mythology. It is beautifully written with fantastic illustrations. I’m looking forward to the next graphic novel in the series.

A big thank you to Karin Springer for providing me with a copy of Esemtu Volume 1 in exchange for my honest review.
