Even angels make mistakes in this page-turning epic romance...

When her parents are murdered before her eyes, sixteen-year-old Helen Cartwright finds herself launched into an underground London where a mysterious organization called the Dictata controls the balance of good and evil. Helen learns that she is one of three remaining angelic descendants charged with protecting the world's past, present, and future. Unbeknownst to her, she has been trained her whole life to accept this responsibility. Now, as she finds herself torn between the angelic brothers protecting her and the devastatingly handsome childhood friend who wants to destroy her, she must prepare to be brave, to be hunted, and above all to be strong, because temptation will be hard to resist, even for an angel.

Michelle Zink masterfully weaves historical fantasy with paranormal romance to create a gripping tale of love and betrayal.[Goodreads]

THE FAERYS VIEW

A Temptation of Angels by Michelle Zink was a truly captivating read that I could not put down no matter what was going on around me. I loved this world Ms. Zink so artfully created for many reasons that you’ll soon read about!

Ms. Zink interwove a captivating tale with two genres that I never thought I’d see together: Steam-Punk and Angels! She did it so masterfully that I was glued to the book and it went everywhere with me---even the loo! I’m going to avoid the blow by blow description of the book and even though this isn’t my normal review method, for A Temptation of Angels I felt it necessary to put everything I loved about the book in perspective so here goes!

The Plot/Storyline: I am so impressed with how well Ms. Zink was able to incorporate the story in such a beautifully scripted format. The flow of the book was always spot on, I always felt like the tempo was appropriate for the situation. Bringing together two totally different genres such as Steam-Punk along with Angels is a challenge within itself but A Temptation of Angels is so perfectly blended and thorough that I found myself amazed at how quickly I fell into their world with my eyes open in awe!

The Characters: The characters were so wonderfully fleshed out and distinctive, Ms. Zink’s expertise at character emoting is exceptional. Through her characters perspectives we catch every glance, every nuance, etc… so that I felt like I knew each character as if I had been there myself. I loved the way the characters interacted with each other, nothing felt rushed and the relationships fell where they were meant to. I did shed a few tears at the loss of one character that I adored; I think that was the only time I wanted to email Ms. Zink and beg her to change it! But there’s a reason for everything…

In summary, A Temptation of Angels by Michelle Zink is one Huge Fan-Faery-Tastic book of Awesomeness! I highly recommend you read this book, you won’t be let down by this absolutely mesmerizing story unless you abhor a fascinating read! This is most definitely a One-Sit-Read for me, my highest honor! The ending of A Temptation of Angels leaves me in high anticipation for the next in the series! I’ll be counting down the days if not hounding the Publishers for another ARC!

  2. AHHHH! MUST READ THIS KRISTI! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy, though I'm already dreading the loss of this character you mention. I don't like it when my characters die! So glad to know you loved it, I have such high hopes:)

  4. Hmm, I didn't like her series. I couldn't even finish the first book. But you sure make this one sound very tempting (ha, ha get it)! I've been reading good things about this one. I'd like to give this one a chance. When I get over my angel thing. But steampunk angels sound really cool! And if you give it the faery stamp of approval with a one sit read...I have no choice. I'll have to read it!

  6. Wow! This is high praise for an angel book. LOL

I know, my jokes are lame... Anyhoo, I wasn't really considering this one, I tend to stay away from angel stories, but you've convinced me to consider it. I think it is incredibly brave for an author to make the readers feel the loss of a beloved character.
