There's 2 beautiful covers-one for Hard Cover and one for Paperback, I love them both but I am partial to the paperbook copy! I'll post them both so you can judge for yourself!

PAPERBACK |
Laurel now knows the truth: Yuki is a rare Winter faerie, the most powerful—and deadly—of all, and she is working with Klea to conquer and destroy Avalon. With Tamani, David, and Chelsea by her side, Laurel prepares for a fight she never thought she would have to face.
Filled with heart-pounding action, sweeping romance, and higher stakes at every turn, Destined is the series conclusion that readers have been clamoring for—with a twist that will leave them breathless.
Tamani looked at her gravely, and reached up to touch her hair behind her ear. He hesitated for an instant, then his hands found the sides of her face, pulling her to him. He didn't kiss her, just held her face to his, their foreheads resting together, their noses almost touching.
She hated how much it felt like good-bye.
THE FAERYS VIEW
Destined by Aprilynne Pike is the final book in the Wings series and I’m so very sad about that! I have followed this series from its inception and loved every single word that Ms. Pike has written.
Loving all things Fae, the biggest draw for me is that Laurel, the main character gets to spend time in Avalon aka Faery and it’s just such an amazing world to be in. Ms. Pike has absolutely amazing skills at creating this Faery world that is so rich in detail that I can almost smell the blossoms and see the sugar-pane glass.
Laurel, Tam, David and Chelsea have quite the school dance when they discover that Yuki’s been playing them all along and is indeed a very powerful Winter Faery working with Klea in the the third book, Illusions. Klea’s plans to destroy Avalon come down to one thing and it all makes sense in Klea’s bizarre and twisted mind which you'll find out about in Destined.
War is coming to Avalon and they are sorely unprepared for it.
David and Chelsea are the only humans to enter Avalon aside from King Arthur, who never left but they love Laurel enough that they risk entering with the possibility of having to stay in Avalon forever in order to help with the upcoming war. Amidst the war between Klea’s army of trolls and Avalons Fae, it seems hopeless but some remarkable things happen. David play’s an incredibly crucial part-I’ve always been pro-Tam but I loved seeing David get to play the ‘Man’ for awhile.
Ms. Pike didn’t make this war an easy one, one very beloved character dies and I shed tears over this loss. There was tremendous death and destruction but there was also triumph and joy. I loved the ending and I feel like maybe Ms. Pike isn’t quite finished with Avalon’s story quite yet…
THE FAERY SAYS THAT DESTINED BY APRILYNNE PIKE SET MY WINGS A’FLUTTER!
* A big thank you to Cindy at ATWT and HarperCollins for allowing me to view this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
I don't know which cover I like better. There are good points to each one. I am partial to the blue, but the pink is so eye catching!
ReplyDeleteOh if there is an opening perhaps she will continue the books even if the main characters are different. I love it when authors do that. Hopefully she will continue! :)
I really love pink but the blue one has the better design suited for the books theme, I think. It took me a few weeks to come to that conclusion!
DeleteI do so hope she continues on because that way I can stop the threatening emails, phone calls... oops, did I just say that... :o]
I like the first one better! I didn't read the review because I haven't read the series. I have some of the books. I don't want to ruin it for myself.

You already know how much I love this series! I almost wept like a baby when I read the last page but.... I think she'll go on, I won't write about who because that would be a *spoiler* plus bad luck! LOL!

ReplyDeleteThe pink cover is actually the UK cover. It will not be available in the USA. It matches the previous book covers in the UK perfectly.
