Yet another book being made into a movie! This is one that I have to say excites me. I am a Jane Austin Fan, as so many of us are. It's hard not to be :o]
This book takes a look at the classic Pride and Prejudice and introduces---ZOMBIES!
It takes the classic story and gives it a paranormal twist, introducing Zombies along with other supernatural happenings. I think all fans of Jane's will see that the author didn't do this to disrespect Jane. It is actually more of an honor; using her book and giving it a scary yet fun paranormal twist, giving readers a taste of Jane and hopefully sparking their interest enough to read her books, if they haven't already. Besides, I Heart me a good zombie book or movie.
There is some controversy about Jane's books being disrespected by being changed in such a manner but the way I look at is that she just might be flattered.
I guess we'll never know but for this reader, I'm going to go with the flow and see where it takes me.
ZOMBIES - OH MY - I CAN'T WAIT! HOW ABOUT YOU?
The Hollywood Reporter says Lionsgate has hired Craig Gillespie to direct a movied based on the novel, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, by Seth Grahame-Smith. Gillespie has also directed Lars and the Real Girl and Fright Night. You can find his IMDB page here.Isn't she just lovely? I'm sure she'll have no trouble finding someone to
Grahame-Smith's novel added zombie mayhem to Jane Austen's classic regency romance novel. It has sold over a million copies.
Deadline.com also has a report on the director news here. The film is not expected in theaters until 2013. *Courtesy of The Book Blog @ readersread.com
If you haven't read this, I haven't but I plan to, maybe give it a chance! Sounds like it could be a book that will take a good chomp out of you and leave you wanting more---perhaps a finger or two?
Happy Saturday All!
I haven't read this book yet, but I plan to before it comes out in movie form. I love books like this one and Wicked that play with things we already know and turns them upside-down!

I've read the book. I'll reserve my comments, in light of the fact that you haven't read it yet. :) Let's just say I'm a BIG BIG Austen fan.
ReplyDeleteI am interested to see the movie, but like everything else, I'll probably wait till it's out on DVD. hahaha
