Switched by Amanda Hocking
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Wendy has never fit in anywhere, from her peculiar eating habits to her inability to get along with others, she just feels different from everyone else. Wendy's mother, convinced that Wendy was a 'monster' nearly killed her when she was a small child. Wendy is then raised by her older brother and her aunt who have loved her unconditionally and pretty much sheltered her. After Wendy gets kicked out of yet another school, they eventually settle in a small town where she meets Finn. It's then that she discovers that she truly is different. Finn tells her that she is a changeling, a Troll Princess actually, and takes her to her 'real home'. During this time, romance starts to blossom between Finn and Wendy but societal restrictions prevent them from being together. Wendy soon finds that her isolation and loneliness remains despite the fact that she is now 'home' amongst her own kind and she desperately misses her family.
Switched is a spellbinding tale that weaves its way into your heart. I am really looking forward to the next book, Torn. Hurry up, Amanda!!!
